Acme Township also employs a Township Manager, who is responsible to the entire board but works most closely on a day-to-day basis with the Supervisor, Clerk and Treasurer. This position provides day-to-day guidance for the other full-time staff members. The Manager's goal and key functions are to implement  the directives of the Board and provide support and stability to the ongoing operations of the township as a corporate entity, regardless of changes in elected or appointed officeholders and political currents. The Manager provides research, support and recommendations to the Board decision-making process, and serves as an ex-officio member of all Board Citizen Advisories. This position also serves as Recording Secretary for the Board of Trustees and the Planning Commission. The Manager is available to assist with the daily needs of the general public.

Sharon E. Vreeland, Township Manager

Sharon is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. She has worked for Acme Township since 1996, when she was hired as Recording Secretary for all public meetings. In 2001 she joined the staff full-time as Zoning Administrator, became Office & Planning Coordinator during the summer of 2003 and assumed her current responsibilities in October 2005. Sharon received her B.A. in History/Art History from The College of Wooster in Ohio. She holds the Master Citizen Planner designation, has done some coursework in GIS and may (someday) sit the AICP examination. Her previous work experience includes 14 years with Old Kent Bank, primarily in the Investment Advisory and Trust Department.
